Mr. Rex Bollinger is in his sixth year as superintendent at Doniphan West Schools serving as superintendent for the first three years at Highland USD 425 and Midway USD 433 prior to their consolidation to become USD 111 in 2009. He came from Mound City, KS where he was a principal for four years at Jayhawk Linn High School of the Jayhawk USD 346 school district. Prior to becoming principal he served as vice-principal for three years and as a teacher for five years. He has also taught two years in the Cameron R-1 school district in Cameron, Mo. Mr. Bollinger received his Bachelor of Science Degree and his Master of Science Degree from Pittsburg State University. His superintendent certification was received from Emporia State University. He is actively involved in his local community participating in the Boy Scouts of America as an adult leader and committee chairperson; Knights of Columbus; finance council member of St. Benedicts Parish, Bendena. He has also served on recreation boards and his local city council in the past. Rex, and his wife Michelle, who is a registered nurse, have 3 children: Ian, Tynan, and Camryn and reside in Bendena, Kansas.

Mr. Chris Lackey grew up in Highland and recently returned after teaching and coaching for 11 years. This is Mr. Lackey's third year as principal of Doniphan West High School, but it is his 15th year working in education. In his time away from school he enjoy spending it with his family: his wife Amy and two boys, Caleb and Carson. He received his associates degree from Highland Community College from there he went on to Kansas State University to earn his bachelors. Then later he completed he masters at Pittsburg State University.

Kristy Ellis came from Holcomb, Kansas where she was the Principal of the Middle School for four years. Before going to Holcomb, she was in Garden City as a Dean of Discipline and taught chemistry for 6 years. She has taught in the inner cities of San Antonio and in Borger Texas. She graduated from Pratt Community College and then attended Emporia State University where she received her Bachelor’s in chemistry and physics. She received her Master’s from Fort Hays State University. Kristy resides in Highland, Kansas. She enjoys chasing her children all over the place while they participate in school activities. She is married to Matt Ellis who runs Basketball Plus Education and has two children, Marc and Abbi.

Mr. Howard grew up in Hiawatha, Kansas and graduated from high school in May 1999. He attended Bethany College on a football scholarship where he majored in Elementary Education and graduated in 2004. He taught 4th grade and coached football in Sharon Springs, Kansas for two years. Then he spent two more years teaching 5th grade and coaching in Kingman, Kansas. While teaching, Mr. Howard earned two Masters Degrees from Emporia State University in the fields of Building Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction and graduated from Emporia in 2008. After Emporia, Mr Howard took his first administration position as the K-8 Principal in Copeland, KS. Mr. Howard joined the Doniphan West team in 2009 as the district Athletic Director, Transportation Director and Communication Director. Currently Mr. Howard is working on his District Level License and hopes to start looking for superintendent position in the near future.
