Miss Kansas Assembly

Miss Kansas spoke to students from Highland Elementary, Midway Elementary, and Doniphan West Middle School on March 11. She presented her background information, and gave a brief explanation of the Miss Kansas Organization and her responsibilities as Miss Kansas. Her main topic was bullying and the bystander. Volunteers from the audience were chosen to role play bullying situations and acted out a variety of strategies that students who are bullied can use. Miss Kansas explained the three types of bullying (physical, verbal, and social) and also talked about what the target of bullies can do and also what the bystander can do. By all working together and becoming more aware, we can help decrease bullying incidents.
