Hot Air Balloon Assembly
The PTO hosted a Hot Air Balloon Assembly on April 30th. It was greatly enjoyed by the Doniphan West Middle School, Midway and Highland Elementary Students. The assembly was educational as well as enjoyable. As an added bonus, the PTO gave kites to all the elementary students. This was especially fitting since it was "K" week at Midway Elementary.
Items discussed
1. The REA Supper was a big success. A big "Thank you" goes to everyone that donated food items and/or worked at the dinner. It was a tasty dinner with special decorations at the table. The tables were decorated with fresh flowers that were placed in vases that were made in Mrs. Gibson's art class by elementary students. It was decided that next year, a charge of $10 per plate will be assessed.
2. The PTO Constitution was discussed and revised.
3. The End-Of-The-Year Dance will be held on May 16th from 7-9 pm. PTO will make a donation towards expenses.
4. Donations for field trips has increased from $2.00 per student to $5.00 per student.
Election of New Officers For 2008-2009 School Year
We are in need of two new officers, President and Vice President, for the 2008-2009 school year. The PTO supports all Midway Elementary and D-West Middle School students by buying instructional materials, books for the library, playground equipment, and needed school equipment. We sponsor the yearbook, birthday parties, school assemblies, and field trips. Please support the PTO by attending meetings and considering being an officer.
