DWMS/Midway PTO News

New and Future Business

1)  We are working on updating and adopting the new Doniphan West 3rd - 8th Grade PTO Constitution.  The Constitution and officers will take effect July 1, 2009.

2)  There is a new Technical Advisory Council PTO Representative position.  Kim Albers and Lisa Weiland are filling this position and will attend the TAC meetings.

3)  Kim Albers is looking into the next PTO sponsored assembly.  We may work with the Highland Elementary PTO on this.

4)  Kim Albers is working on obtaining a PTO Tax Exempt Number.

8)  Our next meeting is unscheduled as of yet, but will most likely be held during the Back to School Supper.

 

Recent Activities/Purchases

1)  Gift Certificates for Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus for attending our grade school Winter Music Program.

2) The PTO Skating party was a success with approximately 50 students participating.  Cost-$50.00.

3)  Valentine's Dance (Split the cost of $150.00 for the DJ with the Healthy Living Club)

4)  Incentive Bags for students taking the Kansas Assessments.  Cost-$ 121.63. 

5)  Donated money towards the DWMS Incentive Program bowling trip.  (Split the cost with the DWMS Booster Club. Cost.$181.09)

6) Family Reading Night- Gift Certificate for Miss Cindy who read to the children.

7)  The REA Supper was a success.  We made $861.09 after expenses.  Thanks to everyone for their help!!

8)  We donated money towards new cheerleading tops.  ($160 - $240.)

Possible Future Purchases

  1. DVL Banners to hang in the D-West Middle School Gym.
  2. Instructional Materials (As needed.)
  3. Cartridges for printers in classrooms--Middle School and Grade School
  4. DVD/Recorder.
  5. Money to go towards new football uniforms.

 

D-West Middle School/Midway & Highland Grade Schools Yearbooks

2008-2009 yearbooks are available for sale, contact the DWMS Office if you would like to purchase one.  125 yearbooks have already been sold.  We have made $1,600.00 so far--but expenses will take most if not all of this.  The yearbooks are done mainly as a courtesy for the kids.

SAVE  CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS & BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION LABELS

 Labels can be sent to school with your child or dropped off at the school or Weiland's Grocery.  Don't forget to save those labels!  Recent proceeds from the box tops are $195.00.  Soup labels will be sent in soon.
