Congratulations to D-West's Retiring Teachers

In the world of sports, retiring an athlete’s jersey is the ultimate way for a team to show gratitude to that outstanding player. But why limit this reverence to sports and athletes? Outstanding teachers and coaches make as much of or more of a difference in a child’s life than an athlete, so let’s honor them in the same way. I’m taking it upon myself to honor and to retire the “teaching jerseys” of three long-time, outstanding Doniphan West teachers, Mark and Nancy Martin and Marcia Twombly. Kassiday Blevins & Cooper Leach

D-West StateTrack Qualifiers

Two Doniphan West athletes have qualified for the state track meet. Freshman Cooper Leach placed third in the high jump at regionals with a jump of 5’6”, and senior Kassiday Blevins will make a return to the state meet in the shot put after placing fourth at regionals. Blevins threw a personal record of 35 feet, while Leach came up short of his personal best of 5’8”. The state competition runs May 25-26.
